How to install OutreachPro (Mac) ================================ Welcome! This takes about a minute, and you do not need to be technical. You also do not need to install anything else first - everything OutreachPro needs is inside this one file. (For Mac. If you are on a Windows PC, ask for the Windows version instead - this file is for Mac only. There are two Mac versions: one for newer Macs with Apple chips, one for older Macs with Intel chips. If you are not sure which you have, click the Apple menu at the top-left, choose "About This Mac", and look at the "Chip" or "Processor" line. Whoever sent you this can give you the right one.) Installing ---------- 1. You were sent one file, named something like OutreachPro-2.3-AppleSilicon.dmg or OutreachPro-2.3-Intel.dmg Save it somewhere easy to find, like your Desktop or Downloads folder. 2. Double-click that file. A window opens showing the OutreachPro icon next to a folder called "Applications". 3. Drag the OutreachPro icon onto the Applications folder, right there in that window. That copies the app onto your Mac. You can then close the window. (You can now eject the disk: in Finder, click the small eject arrow next to "OutreachPro" in the sidebar. The app is already copied, so this is tidy-up.) Opening it the first time ------------------------- Because this app is new, your Mac double-checks with you before opening it the very first time. This is normal and does not mean anything is wrong. 1. Open your Applications folder (in Finder, click "Applications" in the sidebar) and double-click OutreachPro. 2. Your Mac may say it "cannot be opened because it is from an unidentified developer", or that it "could not verify that it is free of malware". Click OK or Done to close that message. 3. Open the Apple menu (top-left) -> "System Settings" -> "Privacy & Security". Scroll down to the "Security" section. You will see a line mentioning "OutreachPro was blocked", with a button next to it: click "Open Anyway" Enter your Mac password or Touch ID if it asks. 4. Double-click OutreachPro once more. This time it opens, and a few seconds later the app appears in its own window. You only do this once. After that, OutreachPro opens with a normal double-click, like any other app. Keeping it running ------------------ OutreachPro shows up in your Dock while it runs, like any other program. Leave it running while you are using the app, and while you want it to send automatic follow-ups. To quit it when you are done, right-click (or Control-click) its Dock icon and choose "Quit", or press Command-Q while it is in front. Setting up your accounts ------------------------- OutreachPro starts empty - none of your email accounts, keys or contacts are in it yet. You add your own inside the app: - your Gmail accounts -> the "Sender accounts" page - your Google key -> the "Settings" page - your WhatsApp details -> the "WhatsApp setup" page Your passwords and keys are stored only on this Mac, in your own home folder, where other accounts on the computer cannot read them. They are never sent anywhere except to Google or WhatsApp when the app sends your messages. Updating -------- OutreachPro updates itself. When a new version is ready, the app tells you and updates when you say yes - you do not need to download anything or open this file again. Removing it ----------- To uninstall: open your Applications folder, drag OutreachPro to the Trash, and empty the Trash. Removing the app does NOT delete your accounts, contacts or history, so if you reinstall later, everything is still there. If something does not work -------------------------- Try quitting OutreachPro (right-click its Dock icon -> Quit) and opening it again. If it still will not start, send this back to whoever gave you the app, and mention what you saw on screen. There is also a log of what happened in the file Library/Logs/OutreachPro.log inside your home folder, which can help them.
